ABOUT JUSTIN LUI
"Hey everyone, my name is Justin Lui.
I’m a Team Canada Olympic volleyball player, playing professional volleyball in Europe for the past three years. Volleyball has been a huge part of my life since I was twelve years old. I began my journey with Durham Attack Volleyball Club, continued my development at Stanford University, and ultimately achieved my dream of representing Canada at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Now it is my goal as a coach to teach athletes all the things I wish I knew when I was playing at the club level to help athletes achieve their volleyball dreams too!"

Coaching Experience
Over the past several years, I’ve coached athletes across Canada, working with youth and competitive players who want to take their game to the next level. Through my experience on the international stage, I’ve seen firsthand where Canadian athletes fall behind—especially in passing, defense, setting, floor work, and overall ball control. My goal is to teach these fundamentals early and correctly, so athletes are better prepared as the game speeds up.
Coaching Philosophy
I view coaching volleyball the same as how I view playing volleyball. The sport serves as a vehicle for learning, growing, and becoming the person I want to be in life. At Backrow Academy, I aim to instill that ideal within all athletes. Within the Backrow Academy environment, focusing on values such as curiosity, discipline, intention, and a love for the game, athletes can learn and train in a safe, professional setting to become not just better volleyball players, but better people.
